What changes the total cost?
1. Mode and service scope
Compare air freight and ocean freight for the cargo, route, urgency and available capacity. Include collection and destination services in the comparison. Neither mode alone establishes the complete door-to-door cost.
2. Packed measurements and charging basis
Send the external dimensions and gross weight of every packed piece. Air freight may compare actual and volumetric weight under the applicable service rule; LCL ocean freight may use volume, weight and minimum charges; an FCL proposal is built around the container and its loading limits. 3. Collection and final delivery
Give the exact collection and Israeli delivery locations. Access, loading equipment, delivery appointments, unloading responsibility and unusually large pieces can change the local service and cost. Ask which leg is included and who handles the cargo at each handover.

Disclose fragile, temperature-sensitive, battery-powered, dangerous or oversized goods before comparing rates. Carrier acceptance, packaging and any extra handling must be checked for the actual cargo and route; none should be assumed from a generic freight quote.
5. Import taxes versus service charges
Customs duty, purchase tax where applicable and VAT are distinct from a forwarder’s customs service fee or terminal charge. The assessment depends on the goods and import circumstances. Keep taxes as a separately checked part of landed cost instead of adding an assumed flat percentage to the freight price.
Build a quote for the actual shipment
A useful estimate needs an origin, destination, cargo description, packed dimensions, gross weight and ready date. A price based only on a package’s weight does not establish the total cost of moving it to Israel.
